Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Intelligent Modeling Coordinator to lead cross-discipline coordination on transit and multimodal projects. The role involves integrating intelligent models across architecture, structures, road design, and MEP into a federated, clash-checked deliverable.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with vocational training in CADD drafting technology.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Cross-discipline coordination — coordinate intelligent models across architecture, vertical/transportation structures, roadway, and MEP.
• Model coordination & clash detection — run clash detection in Navisworks and resolve issues.
• Standards & governance — establish and enforce CADD/BIM standards and workflows.
• Mentorship & guidance — mentor production staff and provide design sketches for finished drawings.
• Acts as Intelligent Modeling Coordinator throughout the project lifecycle for coordination across design disciplines.
• Performs crosscheck of drawings for consistency with layering guidelines and QC standards.
• CADD/technical support tasks including plotting, transmittals, and file management.
• Reviews manufacturers' or fabricators' prints to aid design documents.
• Determines material needs and performs calculations per standards.
• Establishes design criteria for assigned project phases and field support as needed.
• Develops BIM Execution Plans and advises on LOD and LOE.
• Interfaces with clients, agencies, and subconsultants on requirements and data handoff.
• Performs other related duties as required.
