Job summary

HEPCO Inc is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to build and manage a commercial/industrial energy-efficiency pipeline across South Jersey. You will own opportunities from initial outreach through closing and long-term relationship management, while navigating multi-stage processes with Salesforce and eTrac.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in management, engineering, business, or related field with 5+ years in business development and energy-efficiency programs
• In lieu of a degree, 9+ years of directly related experience
• Commercial and industrial energy-efficiency experience required
• Strong business development including outreach, pipeline development, qualification, closing, and ongoing relationship management
• Experience managing vendor performance and leading cross-functional teams
• Management or leadership experience
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and own reliable vehicle for territory travel

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a C&I energy-efficiency pipeline across the assigned NJ territory
• Proactively identify, prospect, qualify, and close C&I energy-efficiency projects
• Own opportunities from initial contact through closing and relationship management
• Advance opportunities through a multi-stage sales process using Salesforce and eTrac
• Build relationships with commercial customers, municipalities, trade associations, and partners
• Promote program awareness and capture field feedback for program teams
• Refer residential opportunities to residential programs when identified in the field
• Oversee vendors contracted to deliver program services and ensure safety compliance
• Lead cross-functional teams across departments and participate in program delivery improvements
• Prepare status reports for customers and management and support special projects
