Job summary

Your Talent Team in Charlotte, NC, seeks a mid-level Business & Commercial Disputes Associate Attorney for a role in a nationally recognized AmLaw 100 firm. The successful candidate will handle complex commercial matters, interact with diverse clients, and work on lean teams offering substantive courtroom exposure.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of commercial litigation experience, NC bar admission (or eligibility), and strong written/oral advocacy.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with excellent academic record.
• Active North Carolina bar admission in good standing.
• 3–5 years substantive commercial litigation experience.
• Experience handling complex business disputes at a sophisticated firm.
• Capable of litigating in state and federal courts from inception to resolution.
• Experience drafting dispositive and non-dispositive motions.
• Capable of managing all phases of discovery including e-discovery coordination.
• Restructuring, insolvency, or bankruptcy litigation experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional written and oral advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle substantive work on complex commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts from inception through resolution.
• Draft and argue dispositive and non-dispositive motions.
• Manage discovery including e-discovery coordination and discovery-related motion practice.
• Prepare for and conduct depositions of fact and expert witnesses as experience permits.
• Support trial preparation, including witness preparation, exhibit management, and pretrial filings.
• Analyze litigation risks, dispute exposure, and business implications to develop practical legal solutions.
• Communicate directly with clients, including in-house counsel and business stakeholders.
• Collaborate with partners, associates, staff, and cross-office teams to provide exceptional client service.
• Contribute to case strategy development and execution across all stages of litigation.
