Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. seeks a Structural Designer to join our Energy and Resources Design Team.

You will contribute to multidisciplinary projects across North America and globally, with a focus on hydropower, dams, water resources and related infrastructure. Under supervision of a Senior Designer or Engineer, you will work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality design deliverables.

Qualifications

• Graduate with a technical/design/drafting background.
• 6–12 years of engineering consulting or construction experience.
• Experience in hydropower, dams, or water resources preferred.
• Proficient with Revit and AutoCAD; CAD/BIM tools knowledge.
• Strong teamwork and ability to lead projects in remote environments.

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow Stantec Safety Culture and health rules.
• Perform modeling, drafting and structural design tasks.
• Complete project deliverables on budget and schedule.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project teams to produce quality design deliverables.
• Support projects involving hydroelectric generating stations, dams, spillways, intake structures, navigation locks, marine facilities, dry docks, shipyards, waterfront structures.
• Work with Engineers and Junior Designers on fit-for-purpose designs.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to designers for their development.
• Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects.
• Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members.
• Travel to local project sites as needed.
