Job summary

Stantec in Bellevue, WA is seeking a Structural Designer to join the Energy and Resources Design Team. You will contribute to hydropower, dams, and marine infrastructure projects across North America and globally, under supervision of a Senior Designer or Engineer.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality design solutions, develop Revit content, and mentor junior designers while embracing a hybrid work model with 2–3 days in the office.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Technical or College Course in Design/Drafting.
• 6 to 12 years of experience in engineering consulting or the construction industry.
• Experience supporting hydropower, dams, navigation structures, marine infrastructure, naval facilities, shipyards, or waterfront projects is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Revit and AutoCAD, or similar platforms.
• Ability to develop Revit content such as custom families and managing parameters.
• Knowledge in CAD/BIM tools such as Autodesk Recap, Civil 3D, Navisworks, ACC/Forma, Inventor (preferred) and workflows with Reality Capture and GIS.

Responsibilities

• Understand and implement Stantec Safety Culture and Health and Safety rules for projects.
• Perform modeling, drafting and structural design tasks for a wide variety of projects.
• Complete project deliverables on budget and schedule.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project teams to produce quality deliverables.
• Support hydroelectric generating stations, dams, navigation structures, marine facilities, and waterfront infrastructure.
• Lead or mentor junior designers as part of professional development.
• Conduct QA/QC on own projects adhering to Stantec guidelines.
• Attend project coordination meetings and travel to local sites as needed.
