Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Billing Operations Analyst in a hybrid role to optimize wholesale billing workflows. You will analyze data, audit invoices, support month-end close, and drive improvements to reduce errors and shorten cycle times. Collaboration with field operations, sales, and contract teams is essential.

The ideal candidate will have 1–4 years in medical billing or revenue cycle, strong Excel skills, and a detail-oriented mindset to ensure contract compliance and accurate data for clients.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, billing reports, CPT/HCPCS codes, and contract terms.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and ability to identify anomalies in large data sets.
• Experience with billing and ERP systems; proficient in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
• Excellent communication and customer service for escalated inquiries.
• Ability to calculate discounts, adjustments, and contract-based pricing.

Responsibilities

• Analyze billing, collections, and data to identify trends and root causes of denials and SLA issues.
• Audit wholesale invoices for accuracy and track SLA performance with financial impact.
• Support month-end close with data validation, payment reconciliation, and variance analysis.
• Lead process improvements across wholesale billing to reduce errors and cycle times.
• Audit inputs/outputs before submission to clients and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Collaborate with field ops, sales, and contract teams to validate service delivery and resolve disputes.
