Job summary

Akumin Inc. is seeking a Billing Operations Analyst to join our hybrid team. You will analyze billing, collections, and operational data, build dashboards, and audit invoices to ensure accuracy and contract compliance.

You will support month-end close with data validation and variance analysis, while driving process improvements across wholesale billing to reduce errors and cycle times. You will collaborate with field operations, sales, and contract teams to resolve disputes and present insights

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–4 years in medical billing, accounts receivable, revenue cycle, or healthcare financial ops.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret billing data and CPT/HCPCS codes.
• Proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and billing/ERP systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and professional communication.
• Ability to calculate discounts and contract-based pricing.

Responsibilities

• Analyze billing, collections, and operational data to identify trends and root causes.
• Build dashboards, aging reports, and performance metrics for leadership.
• Audit wholesale invoices for accuracy (volume, CPT/HCPCS, rates).
• Track SLA performance and quantify financial impact of misses.
• Prepare ad hoc reports for operations, sales, and finance leadership.
• Support month-end close with data validation and variance analysis.
