Job summary

Houston Area Women’s Center is seeking a Bilingual Crisis Hotline Counselor- Sexual Assault to provide real-time support to survivors through 24-hour hotlines. The role includes crisis intervention, intake assessments, and hospital accompaniment, with on-call rotation and hybrid work options.

The position requires bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, a relevant educational background, and experience in social services or call-center settings.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Active college enrollment in relevant fields preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred in related fields.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention, emotional support, information, and referrals to survivors via hotlines and hospital accompaniment.
• Travel to local hospitals to provide face-to-face support and deliver supplies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to offer full spectrum services to survivors.
• Conduct danger assessments and create safety plans.
