Job summary

Vantage Consulting is seeking a BAS Hardware Engineer to support design, engineering, and delivery of Building Automation System projects in a hybrid model in Pittsburgh, PA. You will collaborate with Sales, Software Engineering, Field Operations, and contractors to move projects from design through completion.

The role requires 4+ years in BAS, HVAC controls experience, and the ability to read blueprints and communicate technical information to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering or 4+ years of hardware engineering in HVAC controls industry.
• Minimum 4 years in Building Automation System (BAS) industry.
• Ability to communicate technical material to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to read Architectural, Mechanical, and Electrical blueprints.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio) and Windows software.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist Sales with project specifications and scope of work.
• Conduct site surveys for retrofit design and engineering.
• Create in-house control drawings from plans and specs.
• Select control instrumentation per project requirements.
• Size valves, dampers, meters and HVAC devices.
• Design BAS networks per BACnet standards.
• Collaborate with teams to drive projects to completion.
• Coordinate with contractors and equipment reps during design phase.
• Help develop and maintain company engineering standards.
• Manage multiple projects to meet deadlines.
• Provide onsite technical support when needed.
• Troubleshoot controls, hardware, networking, and system issues.
• Prepare as-built drawings and O&M documentation.
• Communicate technical information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Work independently with close coordination with teams.
