Job summary

abra professional services is seeking a Backend Node.js Developer to join our engineering team in a hybrid setup in Israel. You will design and maintain backend services in an event-driven microservices architecture, leveraging Node.js, JavaScript, and modern tooling.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of Node.js backend experience, strong JavaScript skills, microservices, REST APIs, and databases, with familiarity with Kafka/RabbitMQ, Swagger/OpenAPI, and AI-assisted development practices.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of backend development in Node.js.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and microservices.
• 2+ years with Kafka and/or RabbitMQ.
• Experience building REST APIs and working with SQL/NoSQL databases.
• 1+ year writing automated unit and integration tests.
• Familiarity with Swagger/OpenAPI and distributed systems troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js in an event-driven microservices architecture.
• Design solutions for processing events from multiple systems and supporting business processes.
• Develop REST APIs and integrate between complex systems.
• Investigate complex issues and analyze logs in distributed environments.
• Collaborate with teams including DevOps, QA, and infrastructure to design solutions.
• Apply AI tools across planning, coding, testing and reviewing outputs.
