Job summary

Brathon in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Backend Engineer to develop scalable Node.js applications and RESTful APIs. You will integrate databases, external services, and collaborate with frontend teams to ensure robust server-side logic. Emphasis on tests, code quality, and DevOps practices in a hybrid onsite setup (3 days/week).

Required: Node.js with Express/NestJS/Fastify, relational or NoSQL DBs, Git, and testing frameworks. Nice-to-have: Docker, CI/CD, AWS, and GraphQL.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and secure backend applications using Node.js.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and, where applicable, GraphQL services.
• Build integrations with databases, third-party services, and external APIs.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Develop automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues.
• Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Work with DevOps teams to support deployment, monitoring, and continuous integration processes.
• Contribute to technical planning, architecture decisions, and documentation.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
