Job summary

Yahoo Holdings Inc. is seeking an experienced backend engineer to join the AntiSpam and Delivery team, building and operating high‑throughput services that protect users from spam and ensure reliable delivery of billions of messages daily.

You will work on distributed systems with Java/Go/C++, cloud platforms (GCP/AWS), containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and AI-assisted development tools, delivering robust, scalable software with peer reviews and continuous deployment.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field with strong fundamentals.
• 3+ years of backend software development in Java, Go, or C++ (Java preferred).
• Experience with cloud computing concepts (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and public clouds (GCP/AWS).
• Hands-on ML/AI knowledge and ability to code with AI-assisted tools.
• Experience with containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) on GCP or AWS.
• Strong debugging, performance tuning, and system design skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate distributed systems for inbound protection and message delivery.
• Translate requirements into readable, testable code and deploy to production.
• Review peers' code and provide constructive feedback with accurate estimates.
• Tackle high-throughput service challenges and optimize performance.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers on scalable architecture.
