Job summary

Yahoo Holdings Inc. in Richardson, TX, seeks an experienced backend engineer to join the AntiSpam and Delivery teams.

You will help build and operate distributed systems for inbound protection and message delivery, applying AI-assisted development and high-performance design. You will translate technical requirements into clean, testable code, review peers, and optimize services on Unix/Linux in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field with strong fundamentals.
• Proficiency with Java, Go or C++ and cloud concepts.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and Linux/Unix environments.
• Hands-on ML knowledge and experience with public clouds (GCP/AWS).
• Strong debugging, performance tuning and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate distributed systems for inbound protection, entity reputation, traffic shaping, and message delivery.
• Use AI-assisted development tools as part of your daily workflow, validating and refining what they produce.
• Translate defined technical requirements into correct, readable, testable code, and deploy continuously to production.
• Troubleshoot software failures and tune performance across high-throughput services.
• Design and simplify existing components under minimal guidance.
• Review peers' code, give constructive feedback, and help with estimation.
