Job summary

Consumers Credit Union in Lake Forest, IL is seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to lead design and modernization of our Azure and hybrid infrastructure. This role balances performance, security, reliability, and cost efficiency while guiding cloud strategy.

You will automate with PowerShell, Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, and Azure Automation; drive migrations; and collaborate with Security on Zero Trust initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of infrastructure, network, systems, or cloud engineering experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on Microsoft Azure experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in Azure networking, routing, DNS, VPNs, hybrid connectivity, and cloud architecture.
• Infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience.
• Ability to lead complex technical initiatives and influence cloud strategy.
• Experience in a financial services or regulated environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and management of Azure networking, hybrid cloud connectivity, and cloud infrastructure architecture.
• Drive Azure modernization, cloud migrations, and platform improvement initiatives.
• Automate infrastructure using PowerShell, Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, and Azure Automation.
• Design secure, resilient solutions integrating Azure with on-premises systems and M365.
• Optimize cloud performance, availability, scalability, and cost management.
• Partner with Information Security to support Zero Trust and cloud security best practices.
• Mentor team members and act as a trusted technical advisor.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and advise on fit for the environment.
