Job summary

BECU is seeking a Staff Operations Engineer – Cloud Networking to design and optimize hybrid cloud networking across Azure, guiding security-first and scalable architectures. You will drive infrastructure automation, implement governance, and mentor engineers in a collaborative, enterprise environment.

You’ll work with cross-functional teams in a hybrid model, contributing to strategic cloud initiatives, improving reliability, and accelerating delivery through automated pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years of related experience in Azure and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience in two or more disciplines: Cloud Computing, Infrastructure Services, etc.
• Proven ability to design, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot production systems.
• Experience building and maintaining IaaS, PaaS, SaaS environments and cloud-native architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure (Azure hub/spoke, Virtual WAN, VPN, ExpressRoute).
• Guide teams on Azure networking technologies (VNets, DNS, routing).
• Define architecture standards for scalable cloud networks.
• Lead IaC initiatives using Terraform and scripting.
• Build CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Mentor engineers in Azure networking and automation.
