Job summary

BECU is seeking a Staff Operations Engineer – Cloud Networking to design and advance cloud networking across hybrid and Azure environments. You will mentor engineers, guide technical strategy, and drive security-first practices while delivering scalable, reliable platforms.

The role requires 7+ years in Azure and cloud infrastructure, expertise in Terraform and scripting, and strong collaboration with cross-functional teams. Remote/hybrid work options apply within approved locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in Azure and cloud infrastructure environments.
• Experience in two or more disciplines with emphasis on Cloud Computing and Infrastructure Services.
• Proven ability to design, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot production systems in a team.

Responsibilities

• Design Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure for bi-modal and hybrid setups, including Azure networking.
• Provide Azure Networking Expertise across virtual networks, DNS, routing, and hybrid connectivity.
• Define architecture standards that scale with business needs.
• Champion secure engineering practices in line with compliance.
• Drive observability, telemetry, and reliability of platforms.
• Lead Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives using Terraform and scripting for automation.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Troubleshoot complex issues using telemetry and trend analysis.
• Create and maintain network topology documentation and dataflow diagrams.
• Mentor engineers, lead code reviews, and guide solution development.
• Implement governance, security controls, and landing zones.
• Collaborate with architects, executives, and product teams to align solutions.
• Participate in on-call rotations and after-hours deployments.
• Travel up to 10% as required.
