West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. in Tempe, AZ is seeking a 9-month fixed-term automation engineer who will develop new technology and support existing systems to improve production, quality and safety.

The role is hybrid, requiring onsite presence at least 3 days per week, with a $1,000 milestone bonus for 12 and 24 weeks. You will plan, schedule and execute projects, maintain validation documents, and collaborate with engineering and shift teams to meet timelines and metrics.

Qualifications

• 4-year technical degree.
• Minimum 3 years experience in related industry.
• Background in medical devices/pharmaceutical would be a plus.
• Knowledge of quality systems requirements, FDA Quality System Regulation, cGMP and ISO standards.

Responsibilities

• Support development of new technology, existing technology and existing production lines to improve quality, profitability and safety.
• Develop, execute and document project assignments in compliance with timelines and governance policies.
• Ensure technical and customer requirements for assigned projects are achieved.
• Develop and maintain validation and project management documents.
• Conduct or participate in routine project reviews with Project Teams and Management.
• Troubleshoot and repair automation.
• Maintain machine safeties to protect employees.
