Job summary

Marx Okubo, a trusted national architecture/engineering/construction consulting firm, is seeking an Associate Architect in Atlanta, GA. The role blends on-site collaboration with remote work two days a week, supporting building envelope reviews and project leadership.

You will travel locally and regionally 25–50% and contribute to a portfolio spanning multi-family, office, retail and hospitality projects. Bachelor's in Architecture and 7–12 years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Architecture.
• 7-12 years industry related experience preferred.
• Technical level understanding of most building types.
• Thorough understanding of construction processes, activities and scheduling.
• Construction administration, project management or owner’s representative experience preferred.
• Understanding of construction contract types and forms.
• Solid understanding of building materials and methods and the technical aspects of building enclosures, structures, and systems.
• Working knowledge of accessibility standards (FFHA and ADA) a plus.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, Box or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical team member and project lead.
• Collaborate within a Marx Okubo project team, using strong knowledge in building envelope reviews and evaluations in building design construction, and post-occupancy.
• Build rapport with the client, internal team, consultants and site contact.
• Learn and convey an overall understanding of the clients' project(s) supported.
• Review and analyze building construction and condition, perform building evaluations on existing and new construction.
• Review and analyze contract documents including drawings, specifications, contracts, and budgets.
• Prepare formal reports.
• Travel to client sites and office as needed, locally and regionally, approximately 25-50%.
