Job summary

Sealaska Constructors seeks an Assistant Controller to lead the accounting team, close books, and prepare financial statements for multiple entities. You will manage intercompany billing, fixed assets, and regulatory filings while ensuring US GAAP compliance.

The role is hybrid in California, reporting to the Controller and serving as the primary accounting contact for operations and project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 3+ years of supervisory or management experience.
• CPA preferred.
• Experience in construction, drilling, equipment-intensive field services, or another project-based industry strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close with a detailed close calendar and draft financial statements.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements with intercompany eliminations and variance analysis.
• Load approved budgets and forecast; prepare monthly budget-to-actual reports.
• Oversee reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and maintain internal controls.
• Coordinate intercompany billing and fixed asset/cash activities.
• Manage tax filings, licensing, and multi-state compliance.
• Supervise the accounting staff and drive process improvements.
