Job summary

RENOVO Solutions, based in Irvine, CA, is seeking an Assistant Controller to lead the accounting department, owning the monthly close, financial reporting, and internal controls across locations.

The ideal candidate will guide journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and policy interpretations, ensuring GAAP compliance while managing a team in a fast-growing environment. This is a hybrid role with three onsite days per week at corporate HQ in Irvine.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting with seven years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
• CPA and public accounting experience desirable.
• Supervisory experience including remote workers.
• Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal skills.
• Experience with private equity owned companies preferred; healthcare exposure a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting across multiple locations and monthly close.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting packages.
• Prepare and review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure internal controls and accounting policies are followed (GAAP).
• Guide internal teams on transactions and policy interpretations.
• Identify process improvements and mentor staff and senior accountants.
• Analyze P&L fluctuations and provide variance analysis with drivers.
• Assist with acquisition integration and liaise with external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal filings; manage system upgrades.
