Job summary

Genuine Parts Company is seeking a Customer Relations Specialist - Accounts Receivable to manage a portfolio of past-due customer accounts and support collection inquiries. You will initiate outbound calls, respond to inquiries, and collaborate with Sales, Credit, and Operations to resolve disputes while adhering to credit and collection policies.

The role focuses on reducing aged receivables, improving cash flow, and maintaining positive customer relationships.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in collections or accounts receivable.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in PeopleSoft and Excel.
• Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems.

Responsibilities

• Make outbound collection calls to customers based on assigned account portfolio.
• Respond to inbound calls and emails regarding past-due accounts; provide invoices and statements.
• Maintain documentation of all customer communications in the system of record.
• Monitor aging reports and prioritize accounts to meet collection targets.
• Identify uncollectible accounts and coordinate transfer to Legal for action.
• Escalate complex account issues to leadership or Legal as appropriate.
