Job summary

Summit Utilities is hiring an Analytics Engineer II in Denver to design, develop, test, and maintain analytics data products that power reporting and regulatory submissions. You will own dbt model development within Microsoft Fabric and Azure SQL, covering billing, AMI, SAP, and customer domains end-to-end from profiling to deployment.

Ideal candidates bring strong SQL and dbt skills, data governance understanding, and the ability to translate requirements into durable, well-documented data

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 36 years of experience in analytics engineering or related fields.
• Experience building dbt models in production environments.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL optimization.
• Familiarity with cloud data environments (Fabric, Azure SQL, AWS).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain dbt models for analytics datasets.
• Write and maintain dbt schema tests and source freshness checks.
• Optimize SQL transformations for performance and cost.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers on pipelines and governance.
• Document model purpose, definitions, and lineage for dbt sites.
• Contribute to CI/CD workflows and version control.
