Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, information systems, computer science, math, or related field preferred.
• 3–6 years of analytics engineering, data engineering, data analysis, or BI development experience.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining dbt models in production or near-production environments.
• Strong experience with relational databases, including query writing, optimization, and stored procedures.
• Experience in cloud-based data environments (Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL, AWS, or similar).
• Familiarity with source control practices and CI/CD workflows for analytics or data projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain dbt models transforming source data into governed, analytics-ready datasets.
• Write and maintain dbt schema tests and source freshness checks to enforce data quality SLAs.
• Optimize SQL transformations for performance and cost within Microsoft Fabric and Azure SQL.
• Investigate data discrepancies and collaborate with Data Engineers to remediate issues.
• Gather and document data requirements from Data Analysts and stakeholders, translating into dbt designs.
• Maintain dbt project structure including refs, sources, YAML configs, and incremental materializations.
• Create clear documentation in dbt documentation site with model purpose and lineage notes.
• Collaborate on pipeline requirements and CI/CD workflows; participate in PR reviews.
