Summit Utilities, Inc. in Little Rock, AR is seeking an Analytics Engineer II to design, develop, test, and maintain analytics data products that power reporting, regulatory submissions, and operational decision-making.

You will own dbt model development within Microsoft Fabric and Azure SQL, focusing on governance across billing, AMI, SAP, and customer data. Ideal candidates have 3–6 years in analytics/data engineering, strong SQL and dbt skills, and cloud data experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 3–6 years in analytics engineering, data engineering, data analysis, or BI development.
• Hands-on experience building dbt models in production or near-production environments.
• Strong SQL with query writing, optimization, and stored procedures.
• Experience in cloud data environments such as Fabric, Azure SQL, AWS.
• Familiarity with source control and CI/CD workflows for data projects.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain dbt models across subject areas.
• Write dbt schema tests and source freshness checks.
• Optimize SQL transformations in Fabric and Azure SQL.
• Investigate data discrepancies with Data Engineers to remediate issues.
• Gather data requirements from Analysts and regulatory teams.
• Maintain dbt project structure including refs, sources, YAML configs.
• Document models and lineage on dbt documentation site.
• Mentor Analytics Engineer I peers through code reviews.
• Participate in standups, sprints, and architecture discussions.
• Build knowledge of utility data domains like billing, AMI, SCADA, SAP, GIS.
