Job summary

Koniag IT Systems, LLC is seeking an AI Integration Engineer to deploy, configure, and optimize AI platforms (including Perplexity AI and OpenAI) within the client’s enterprise IT environment in Washington, DC. You will build scalable integration pipelines, ensure secure API connectivity, and collaborate with AI leads and IT teams to deliver mission-aligned solutions.

The role is hybrid with 1 day onsite and requires ability to obtain a Public Trust.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, Data Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of systems integration, software development, API engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 1+ years deploying, configuring, or integrating AI platforms, LLMs, or generative AI in enterprise.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs and integrations via APIs, SDKs, webhooks, or middleware.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure/AWS/GCP) and its AI/integration offerings.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement integrations between AI platforms (Perplexity AI, LLMs) and enterprise systems using REST, SDKs, webhooks, and middleware.
• Configure Perplexity AI environments, including API connectivity, authentication, and data source integration.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines connecting AI tools with SharePoint, Microsoft 365, ServiceNow, and other enterprise apps.
• Implement and refine retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures and vector DB integrations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate AI use cases into scalable integration solutions.
• Support deployment of AI-powered self-service capabilities and intelligent search within the enterprise.
• Conduct testing (functional, performance, output quality) and monitor integrations for reliability.
• Ensure AI integrations comply with cybersecurity and federal security frameworks.
