Job summary

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active U.S. state bar membership.
• Minimum 3 years of legal experience at a law firm, in-house, government, or combo.
• Experience advising on technology-related legal matters.
• Strong legal research, drafting, and communication skills.
• Strong judgment, attention to detail, and problem-solving.
• Ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.
• Strong project management and organizational capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Sony's AI governance framework and risk processes.
• Conduct legal/regulatory analysis related to AI (IP, consumer protection, product liability, privacy, ethics).
• Review AI use cases for governance and ethical risks.
• Draft memos, policies, guidance, governance artifacts, training materials, and communications.
• Monitor global AI-related legal/regulatory developments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate requirements into guidance.
• Support governance forums, executive briefings, AI literacy, and strategic initiatives.
• Maintain governance documentation, templates, and playbooks.
