Job summary

MAPFRE is seeking an Agentic AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy production-grade AI agents that streamline insurance workflows. The role is full-time and hybrid, based in Boston or Webster, MA, working with Python, LangGraph, AWS, and modern cloud tech.

You will collaborate with AI architects, stakeholders, and domain experts to deliver reliable agentic solutions, establish engineering patterns, and scale AI adoption across a global insurer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field with 7+ years of software engineering, ML, or data engineering.
• 2+ years building LLM-based applications with at least one production-deployed agentic system.
• Strong Python development experience and software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience building APIs, integrating tools and services, automated testing, version control, debugging.
• Hands-on with agent frameworks/SDKs; LangGraph strongly preferred.
• Experience using major model APIs or managed AI platforms such as Amazon Bedrock.
• Experience building production AI agents integrating with enterprise systems and APIs.
• Experience evaluating LLM apps with test datasets, metrics, and regression testing.
• Understanding AI agent reliability, governance, and responsible AI practices.
• Strong communication to explain AI behaviors to stakeholders.
• Proven ability to solve complex, ambiguous problems independently.

Responsibilities

• Designing, building, and deploying agentic AI workflows.
• Developing Python-based backend services, APIs, and enterprise integrations.
• Implementing cloud-native AI solutions using AWS, containers, and CI/CD.
• Building evaluation frameworks, observability, monitoring, and governance controls.
• Integrating AI agents with enterprise systems, data sources, APIs, and MCP services.
• Collaborating with architects, product owners, and stakeholders to prototype and scale AI solutions.
