Job summary

CoStar Group is seeking a Manager, Software Engineering in Richmond, VA. The role focuses on leading software teams, delivering scalable web applications, and advancing AI-powered initiatives across the organization.

You will mentor engineers, shape architecture, and partner with product leaders to align with business goals. The position follows a Monday–Thursday in‑office schedule with optional work‑from‑home on Fridays.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including full‑stack development.
2+ years of engineering leadership experience managing software development teams.
Hands‑on experience with TypeScript, C#, .NET, React, SQL Server, Elasticsearch, AWS, and modern cloud‑native practices.
Experience evaluating, adopting, or developing AI‑powered solutions and applications.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership, architectural direction, and delivery ownership for a portfolio of software products and platforms.
Mentor high‑performing teams building scalable applications and services with TS, React, Node.js, .NET, SQL Server, AWS, and AI tech.
Guide design reviews, remove delivery obstacles, and contribute to engineering initiatives.
Drive cross‑project coordination of priorities, dependencies, and resources.
Champion AI‑assisted development to improve productivity, quality, and reliability.
Lead AI-powered solutions including agents, tools, and workflow automations.
