Job summary

CoStar Group is seeking a Manager, Software Engineering to lead software teams delivering scalable platforms using TypeScript, React, Node.js, and .NET within an AI-focused transformation. The role emphasizes architectural oversight, mentoring, and collaborating with Product Leaders to align with business goals.

Located in Richmond, VA, the position follows a Monday–Thursday in-office schedule with remote Fridays, offering strong compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience including full-stack development.
• 2+ years in engineering leadership managing software teams.
• Experience delivering scalable software products.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership, architectural direction, and delivery ownership for a portfolio of software products.
• Lead and mentor teams building web apps using TypeScript, React, Node.js, .NET, SQL Server, AWS, and AI tech.
• Guide design reviews, remove delivery obstacles, and contribute to key engineering initiatives.
• Drive multi-project execution across engineering and business functions.
• Champion AI-assisted development to improve productivity and reliability.
• Use AI-powered observability and automation to boost resiliency and customer experience.
• Partner with stakeholders to implement intelligent workflows and automation.
• Lead design and governance of AI-powered solutions including agents, tools, and copilots.
• Enforce engineering best practices for quality, security, and scalability.
• Promote responsible AI with security, privacy, and governance standards.
• Represent customer voice in planning, design reviews, and release readiness.
