Job summary

The Douglaston Companies is seeking an Affordable Housing Leasing Coordinator in New York City. This role supports leasing staff, coordinates applicant records, reviews credit/backgrounds, and helps manage subsidy packages to transition residents to Property Management. Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant NYC experience in affordable housing, property management, leasing, or subsidy processing.
• Familiarity with leasing processes, applicant file management, and subsidy or recertification documentation.
• Strong organizational, communication, and follow-up skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Maintain applicant records and statuses in internal trackers and Affordable Housing Software.
• Assist leasing staff with scheduling appointments.
• Assist with running applicants’ credit and background checks.
• Coordinate final leasing activities and transition new residents to Property Management.
• Assist with subsidy package preparation, submission, follow-up, and status tracking.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain applicants and lease files.
• Manage shared inbox and phone inquiries, ensuring timely response and escalation.
