Job summary

The Doe Fund, a leading New York nonprofit, seeks a Leasing & Compliance Coordinator to ensure compliant leasing activity for its housing portfolio. You will coordinate intake, recertification, and renewal processes while liaising with case managers and third-party property managers in a supportive housing environment.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in affordable housing, strong knowledge of Section 8 regulations, and proficiency with Yardi and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in affordable housing, property management, or supportive housing.
• Proficiency in property management software with a preference for Yardi.
• Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Bachelor degree or higher preferred.
• Certifications (Preferred): COS or TCS.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with affordable housing programs, Section 8, HASA and other NYC and NYS housing regulations.
• Act as a primary point of contact for external audits, file reviews, and agency inspections regarding leasing compliance rules.
• Ensure all resident lease related files are complete, accurate, and audit-ready at all times.
• Regularly obtain a list of Section 8 tenants that have not recertified and assist with the recertification process.
• Assist third party property managers with LIHTC compliance, as needed.
• Uphold Fair Housing standards and confidentiality of resident information.
• Generate monthly HASA rental reports for four projects and HRA reports for one project; manage CAPS accounts and re-rental process.
• Track SSR program rent collection and produce monthly reports.
• Assist with lease-up and renewal processes coordinating with case managers and providers.
• Maintain on-site resident engagement and assist with move-in readiness and documentation.
