Job summary

Rolls-Royce is seeking an Aerothermal Engineer - Local Specialist in Indianapolis, IN, for a hybrid onsite role. You will design, analyze, and validate gas turbine aero components, performing CFD, meanline and throughflow studies while coordinating with design teams.

The role requires a strong background in aerodynamics, turbomachinery and heat transfer, with 5+ years in aero engineering. relocation is available for the right candidate and a discretionary bonus plan is offered.

Qualifications

Proficient with aerodynamics, turbomachinery, airfoil design, and CFD.
Understanding of gas turbine architecture, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.
Experience in component aerodynamic design.
Ability to communicate aero concepts clearly to varied audiences.

Responsibilities

Design, analyze, and simulate gas turbine system components and subsystems using CFD, meanline, and throughflow methods.
Define and interpret sub-system requirements and develop performance maps and bids.
Collaborate with aeromechanics, heat transfer, and mechanical design to ensure aerodynamic integrity.
Plan and oversee rig tests with data reduction, post-test analysis, and reporting.
