Rolls-Royce in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Senior Stress and Lifing Engineer to lead structural analyses of engines and related components. The role focuses on ensuring reliability and safety across cooling, thermal, and mechanical loading scenarios with advanced modeling and FEM techniques.

The position offers hybrid work arrangement (3 days onsite weekly) and relocation assistance where applicable, with a strong emphasis on mentoring junior analysts and presenting findings to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years of mechanical design or manufacturing experience.
• Master's degree in Engineering with 3+ years of mechanical design or manufacturing experience.
• PhD in Engineering.
• US citizenship is required.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with mechanical integrity, stress and lifing using numerical models.
• Ability to apply analytical and innovative thinking on technical problems.
• Knowledge of product integrity and certification frameworks.
• Membership in a relevant professional body.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform advanced mechanical integrity, stress, and lifing assessments using FEM and other modeling techniques.
• Mentor and train junior analysts, providing technical guidance.
• Conduct peer reviews of analysis projects to ensure high quality.
• Serve as primary contact for mechanical integrity with customers and cross-functional teams.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
• Share subject matter expertise across the organization.
• Champion continuous improvement of tools, processes and methods.
