Job summary

Rolls-Royce Indianapolis is seeking a Component Design Engineer in Turbomachinery for the Cold End. Hybrid work with onsite days, developing turbomachinery components to meet performance, life, and efficiency targets.

You will design and validate hardware, coordinate with manufacturing, and support service and aftermarket teams. Qualified candidates have a degree in engineering with design experience or an advanced degree in mechanical/aerospace fields; familiarity with NX, Teamcenter, and ANSYS

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; 2+ years in design engineering, mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• Master’s degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or JD/PhD in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering.
• Experience with turbine component design methods and practices is preferred.
• Knowledge of GD&T and release processes is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Create component design definitions meeting module, system, and customer interfaces.
• Define dimensional tolerances and GD&T; support manufacturing to produce conforming hardware.
• Review supplier documentation and assess non-conforming hardware; review change proposals.
