Job summary

AspenTech is seeking an Associate Power System Engineer to join our ADMS group. You will design, configure, troubleshoot, and test distribution management systems for electric utilities, collaborating with cross-functional teams across development and architecture.

This hybrid role requires a Bachelor’s in engineering, 3+ years in a similar role, programming in C/Python, and experience with SQL/XML/Mongo/GIS. Travel ~25% and a strong customer focus are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; Master’s a plus.
• At least 3 years in a similar engineering role.
• Programming in C and Python; strong problem solving.
• Experience with SQL, XML, MongoDB and GIS.
• Strong troubleshooting and system-design knowledge.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to travel.

Responsibilities

• Implement control systems for electric utilities and ensure contract requirements.
• Design, plan, and execute ADMS projects with cross-functional teams.
• Install and configure Distributed Power Flow, FLISR, and VVC/VVO.
• Support testing events and coordinate with OSI development teams.
• Interface with GIS to model electrical networks in the DMS.
• Configure software components and train customers on delivery.
• Provide ongoing technical support for live systems.
