Job summary

UnitedHealth Group’s OptumCare unit is seeking a dedicated Administrative Medical Assistant to support OMG providers in Eugene, OR. The role involves gathering medical information, ensuring quality patient care, and building rapport with patients in a cheerful, personable manner.

Qualifications

• MA Certification must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
• 1+ year of Medical Assistant experience.
• CPR/BLS certification required or obtainable within 30 days of hire.
• Must live within commutable distance to Eugene, OR for onsite training.

Responsibilities

• Respond to calls and refer if necessary; call patients to schedule appointments.
• Obtain patient histories, medications, immunizations and other data in the EMR.
• Retrieve laboratory and radiology results and instruct patients regarding medications per provider's instructions.
• Understand and follow the approved prescription refill workflow; communicate with provider for refills.
• Understand and interpret current immunization schedule; perform other duties as assigned.
