Job summary

Optum in Eugene, OR is seeking an Administrative Medical Assistant to support providers by gathering and maintaining medical information, ensuring cheerful, patient‑focused service and helping establish rapport between patients and providers.

The role is onsite in Eugene for 3–6 months before transitioning to fully remote work. You will handle calls, schedule appointments, obtain histories, immunizations, and test results, and follow the prescription refill workflow per provider instructions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• MA Certification from the AAMA, NCCT, NHA, or AMT or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• 1+ year Medical Assistant experience.
• CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Must live within commutable distance to Eugene, OR for 3-6 months onsite training.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incoming calls and schedule appointments as directed.
• Obtain patient histories, medications, immunizations and data in the EMR.
• Retrieve lab and radiology results and instruct patients per provider.
• Follow the prescription refill workflow and coordinate with providers for refills.
• Understand immunization schedules and perform other duties as assigned.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

MA Certification (AAMA/NCCT/NHA/AMT) or obtainable within 60 days

1+ year Medical Assistant experience

CPR/BLS certification or obtainable within 30 days

Commute distance to Eugene, OR for onsite training (3-6 months)
