Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking an ADAS Design & Release Engineer to drive hardware and software integration for advanced driver assistance systems across multiple vehicle programs. You will lead the design, release, and integration work, ensuring robust documentation and timely parts delivery with a cost-conscious approach.

The role emphasizes systems engineering, collaboration with suppliers and cross-functional teams, and the ability to travel for prototype and vehicle launches.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in Design and Release of E/E components.
• 1+ years of experience with Automotive Component or Subsystem Product Development tools and processes.
• 1+ years of CAD packaging experience.
• Experience with Teamcenter PLM for releasing engineering drawings and managing BOMs.
• Strong understanding of engineering disciplines (systems engineering, design validation, failure mode analysis, Six Sigma).
• Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead Design and Release work for ADAS components across vehicle programs.
• Provide cost-efficient, quality parts on time; maintain robustness documentation (DFMEA, DVP&R, etc.).
• Support sourcing process, ESOW, specs, and cost reviews.
• Manage hardware releases for prototype, production, and service.
• Lead Failure Mode Avoidance and Functional Safety analyses.
• Conduct Technical Design Reviews with suppliers and Ford core activities.
• Support electrical distribution with diagrams and specs.
• Interface with cross-functional teams to meet specs.
• Complete program deliverables like BOM, DRP, DVP&R and sign-off.
• Analyze data to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Assist prototype and vehicle launches; travel may be required.
• Identify validation, durability, and testing needs for scope.
• Support warranty reduction and Total Vehicle Management.
