Weston & Sampson in Reading, MA is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist with 2-5 years of experience for a hybrid work environment. You will perform project-based payable activities, support monthly close, and ensure accurate general ledger allocations.

The role requires strong Excel/Word skills, detail orientation, and good communication. Initial responsibilities focus on AP tasks with opportunities to expand, collaborating with Billing and G/L teams to resolve inquiries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field; strongly preferred but not required.
• 2–5 years of professional accounting experience.
• Experience in construction/engineering industry a plus.
• Deltek VantagePoint experience is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Excel and Word; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Perform a high volume of project-based payable activities in line with terms and policies.
• Support monthly close by monitoring GL activity and chasing missing invoices.
• Process credit card transactions and allocate to correct GL accounts.
• Process employee expense reports with receipts.
• Complete reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Coordinate with Billing Team on PWP charges and intercompany billings.
• Provide additional accounting and administrative support as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and PMs to resolve billing inquiries.
