Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is seeking an Accounting Technician for the Remittance Processing and Other Accounts Receivable Branch, located in Raleigh. The role requires careful accounting and customer service for various divisions.

Responsibilities include billing, payments analysis, month-end tasks, and maintaining receivable records using NCFS, ACTS, Excel, and Business Works.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Accounting with two years of accounting experience, or high school/GED with four years of accounting work experience, or an equivalent combo.
Candidates should be able to apply general accounting principles including billing and receivables.
Experience balancing and reconciling accounts and reporting accounting data with accuracy.

Responsibilities

Billing and collection activities for ten DHHS divisions including Central Administration.
Assist with month-end balancing of NCFS, Cash Management, Business Works, and daily log distribution.
Maintain information on money receipts, accounting distribution, and contact names.
Refer delinquent accounts to external agencies as needed.
Maintain cash receipts logs and support daily depository processes.
Assist supervisor with special reports upon request.
Handle miscellaneous billing between divisions, salary overpayments, and payment plans.
