Job summary

The State of North Carolina - Health & Human Services is seeking an Accounting Technician III (S) to support remittance processing and accounts receivable in Raleigh. You will handle billing, deposits, and daily reconciliation using NCFS, ACTS, Excel and Business Works, ensuring GAAP compliance and accurate reporting.

The role is hybrid with onsite reporting in Raleigh, NC, and requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience with AR processes.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting with two years of accounting experience.
• High school diploma or GED with four years of accounting experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Billing and collection activities for multiple DHHS divisions; analyze payments for correct deposit information.
• Assist with month-end balancing of NCFS, ACTS, and Business Works; manage daily log and distribution.
• Maintain information on money type, accounting distribution, and contact names.
• Refer delinquent accounts to external agencies and debt setoff programs.
• Maintain cash receipts logs and support daily depository processes.
• Assist supervisor with special reports and miscellaneous billing tasks for oversights and overpayments.
