Job summary

NC State University seeks a Temporary Accounting Technician to support Purchasing & Accounts Payable, travel reimbursements, p-card management, and journal vouchers in a busy university office in Raleigh. The role follows a Monday–Friday 40-hour schedule with hybrid work options.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent with accounting experience, strong MS Excel/Word skills, and knowledge of accounting principles and cost accounting standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in accounting work; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Proficient with MS Excel and MS Word. Must have excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask in a busy, fast-paced office with frequent deadlines and interruptions.
• Must be knowledgeable and have experience in accounting principles and cost accounting standards.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with individuals of diverse backgrounds and responsibilities.
• Ability to maintain and manage accounting records of moderate variety and complexity, including preparation of financial reports.

Responsibilities

• Purchasing & Accounts Payable, travel and expense reimbursements, p-card management, requisitions (small and large), Journal vouchers.
• Attend non-revenue generating sporting events for free.
• Other duties as needed.
