Job summary

Wakefern Food Corp. is seeking an experienced accounting professional to manage the recording of the full accounting cycle in accordance with GAAP and to deliver timely financial and operational reporting for assigned stores.

The role supports month-end close, variances analysis, and cash flow planning in a hybrid work setting. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, 5+ years of experience, CPA considered a plus, and strong MS Office skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot, PPT).

Qualifications

• Review weekly operating statements for 8–12 stores.
• Post and reconcile journal entries, including depreciation, AP/AR, and fixed assets.
• Provide monthly analyses of variances vs budget.
• Perform month/quarter/year-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/year-end financial reporting package.
• Assist in monthly cash flow preparation.
• May take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Responsibilities

• Review weekly operating statements for 8–12 stores.
• Verify, allocate, post journal entries, including depreciation and reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable & fixed assets.
• Provide monthly analysis related to actual/budget/prior year variances of the operating statement.
• Perform month, quarter, and year end close activities, including balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/year end information to support the total financial reporting package.
• Assist Supervisor in preparation of monthly cash flow.
• May be assigned additional responsibilities or projects as necessary.
