Job summary

Arizona Public Service (APS) is seeking an Accountant II to join the Operations Accounting team. You will prepare financial statements, maintain records, and support reporting to enable informed business decisions while upholding financial accountability and operational excellence.

You will partner with supervisors and business units to provide insights, analyze transactions, and improve reporting accuracy.

Qualifications

BS Degree in accounting, finance or related field.
Broad understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
Experience applying accounting principles to financial activities.
Strong analytical, research and problem solving skills.
Broad knowledge of spreadsheet and software programs (Microsoft Office).

Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain financial statements, management reports, and general ledger accounts to support business decision-making.
Analyze accounting transactions and ensure they are recorded accurately and in accordance with professional accounting standards.
Investigate and resolve accounting issues, helping maintain the integrity of financial systems and records.
Partner with supervisors, managers, and business unit teams to provide financial insight and support operational goals.
Review financial information and identify opportunities to improve reporting accuracy and effectiveness.
Contribute to a culture of accountability by helping ensure compliance with established accounting policies and procedures.
