Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred as applicable.
• No prior kitchen experience required; Hy-Vee provides training.
• Ability to stand and walk during shifts and handle fast-paced kitchen work.
• Commitment to food safety, sanitation, and consistent quality.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a smile and assist them in the Hy-Chi area.
• Prepare woks by cleaning, heating, and adding oil.
• Cook soups and meats, prepare vegetables and sauces.
• Place food in hot cases, monitor quantities, refill as needed.
• Fill cold case with fresh-made items for the next day.
• Keep Hy-Chi kitchen clean and maintain consistent cooking responsibilities.
• Take customer orders at the Hy-Chi counter when needed.
• Order product and supplies as necessary or notify department head.
• Follow Hy-Vee dress code and guidelines.
