Job summary

CT State Community College in Bridgeport, CT seeks a Qualified Craft Worker (HVACR) to maintain and repair heating, ventilation, and refrigeration systems across campus facilities. The role requires skilled trade experience, the ability to read psychrometric charts, operate controls, and coordinate with campus operations staff.

The position is full-time, first shift, 7:30am–3:30pm, with opportunities for professional growth and a stable state benefits package.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of experience in HVACR trades.
• Two (2) years of the general experience must be in skilled HVACR trades.
• Substitutions allow vocational/technical school diploma for two years, or internship programs as defined by the employing institution.
• Experience with Building Automation Systems may be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform highly skilled HVACR tasks following standard trade practices.
• Operate, maintain, repair, install and modify HVAC/R equipment and systems.
• Determine cooling capacity needs for small areas and read psychrometric charts.
• Monitor computerized control systems and document work.
• May inspect steam traps and manage related maintenance tasks.
