Job summary

Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, CT seeks a full-time Qualified Craft Worker (HVACR) to support Facilities HVAC Operations. The role requires substantial HVACR experience, two-shift spring/fall coverage, and a rotating weekend schedule with medical, drug, and background checks required prior to employment.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in the HVACR trade.
• Two years as a Skilled Maintainer/Transportation Maintainer 2 per state rules.
• Diploma from vocational/technical school may substitute two years of general experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform highly skilled HVACR tasks following trade practices and codes.
• Operate, maintain, repair, install, and modify HVAC/R equipment and systems.
• Determine cooling capacity for spaces and interpret psychrometric data.
• Monitor control systems and check for fuel/gas leaks.
• Maintain records, estimate time and materials, and coordinate with other units.
