Job summary

CT State Community College seeks a Qualified Craft Worker (HVACR) to join the maintenance team at the Asnuntuck Campus in Enfield, CT. You will perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of HVACR systems to keep classrooms, labs and offices safe and comfortable.

The role is full-time with a first shift (6:00am–2:30pm) and opportunities for professional growth within a public higher education environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of standard HVACR trade practices and tools
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
• Ability to prepare estimates and maintain shop records
• Experience using computer software in a maintenance context
• Awareness of safety practices and OSHA compliance

Responsibilities

• Performs highly skilled HVACR tasks per standard trade practices and codes
• Operates, maintains, repairs, installs, and assembles HVACR equipment and systems
• Determines required cooling capacity for small areas
• Interprets a psychometric chart for system design
• Monitors computerized building control systems and readings
• Keeps records and estimates for tasks and materials
