Job summary

State of Connecticut is seeking a skilled HVARCR Technician to join the maintenance team at the Asnuntuck Campus in Enfield, CT. You will perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of HVACR systems to keep campus buildings comfortable and safe.

The ideal candidate has four years of HVACR experience, CT licensure per Special Requirements, and the ability to read schematics and operate computerized controls. This is a full-time, first-shift role with regular weekday hours.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of experience in tasks in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration trade.
• Two (2) years of the General Experience must have been performing skilled HVACR trades.
• State employee substitutions may apply and licensure requirements noted.

Responsibilities

• Performs highly skilled HVACR tasks according to trade practices and codes.
• Operates, maintains, repairs, installs and modifies HVACR systems and equipment.
• Determines cooling capacity needs and interprets psychrometric charts.
• Monitors computerized control systems and tests fuel/gas specifics.
• May install electrical or pneumatic controls and repair steam traps.
• Keeps records, estimates time and materials, and liaises with other units.
