Job summary

Copeland is seeking a HVAC/R Mechanical Technician for its Sidney, OH campus. The role supports testing and development of compressors, electronics, and test fixtures in a fully onsite lab environment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma with 3+ years of related experience, basic mechanical/HVAC/electrical skills, troubleshooting ability, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. The position emphasizes safety, data review, and collaboration with engineers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus three (3) years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have basic mechanical, HVAC, and/or electrical/electronic skills.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office programs.
• Legal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

Responsibilities

• Follow engineering laboratory test instructions to performance test variable speed compressors.
• Set up and install compressors and support compressor electronics for test purposes.
• Operate laboratory test equipment including calorimeters, mass flow stands, data acquisition systems, and other measuring equipment used to acquire compressor performance characteristics.
• Setup and operate variable speed drives for testing purposes.
• Fabricate supporting test fixtures and controls required for non-standard tests.
• Review test data for compliance with applicable test data standards.
• Perform various tasks related to the upkeep of the lab.
• Complete required tests and communicate test results with engineers; provide input on optimizing work processes to improve lab efficiency.
